How to Search Microfilms at the FamilySearch Library
If the films you need aren’t available online, you can search the physical microfilms or microfiche at the FamilySearch Library in Salt Lake City, Utah. Film ordering stopped for all FamilySearch centers in 2017, but you can still view films at the library.
- Unavailable Films: If the catalog location says “Granite Mountain Records Vault,” the film isn’t available at the library. The supply of microfilm is rapidly diminishing, so we’ve removed the ability to request microfilms from the Granite Mountain Record Vault.
- Future Access: We’re working on alternative methods to access microfilmed records that can’t be released online. We appreciate your patience as we develop these options.
